Due to increased demand, Batchworth run two Cub packs, offering increased opportunities for local young people to be involved within Scouting.
Cub Scouts are boys and girls aged between 8 and 10½ and wear distinctive green sweatshirts. Our Cubs only meet during term time with our Tempest pack meeting Tuesday evenings and our Warrior section on Wednesday’s, both running 6:30-8pm. The two packs share a programme of many enjoyable varied activities with an emphasis on the outdoors, water activities and having fun! Our Cubs also participate in occasional camps plus District and County activities in addition to the weekly meetings.
To help these sections grow, we manage a waiting list of applicants and need additional adults to help in running the activities. We are looking for keen adults to assist the Cub Scout leaders. You’d be an energetic person who gets on well with 8 to 11 year olds – and can cope with the noise they make! Cub Scout Leaders and helpers come in all shapes and sizes and from all backgrounds. No previous experience in Scouting is necessary as full training and support will be provided. You don’t have to be a Cub Scout parent either.
If you are able to help or would like any additional information on joining our Cub packs please contact info@batchworth.org.
