Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

DoE

Throughout your time in scouting, you should be working towards a number of important awards.  The highest of these is the Queens Scout Award, which is often completed in conjunction with the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DoE) Gold Award.

Many of the current leadership team at Batchworth have been able to secure these accolades in recent years, including Emma Turner, Bryony Powell & Simon Gowing.  Now an explorer leader, Simon Gowing, was awarded his Queens Scout and DoE Gold Award at a ceremony held during the annual Family Sailing day at Rickmansworth Aquadrome in July 2011.

The Queen’s Scout Award is the culmination of everything you can achieve in Scouting.  Bryony Powell was luckily enough to be able to parade her awards at a ceremony at Windsor Castle with the Queen, patron of scouts, receiving the parade accompanied by the Chief Scout, Bear Grylls.

Many congratulations to all for their marvellous achievements.

If you are interested in joining the DoE scheme, please speak to your section leader.  Emma, Bryony & Simon will also be pleased to tell you about the benefits they gained from the process.
